The Sukatani District Government, Bekasi Regency, is preparing to hold a folk festival titled "Gebyar Sukatani". This event is organized to commemorate the 76th Anniversary of Bekasi Regency as well as to welcome the 81st Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia. Apart from being a source of entertainment, this celebration aims to strengthen friendship between villages and increase active citizen participation.
Various exciting activities have been prepared involving various community elements, ranging from village officials and community organizations to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The series of events that will enliven this festival includes a healthy walk, a fashion show competition, a chanting competition, and a unique parcel decorating competition that requires the use of local Sukatani crafts and food products.
The Head of Sukatani District, Agus Dahlan, emphasized that Gebyar Sukatani is not just an ordinary folk festival. This momentum is expected to revive the spirit of mutual cooperation (gotong royong) and patriotism, especially towards the Bekasi Regency area. A harmonious relationship between the district government and civil society is the main foundation for regional development.
Furthermore, Agus explained that involving MSMEs in the parcel decorating competition is a strategic step to expand the market for local products. Through this promotional medium, products made by Sukatani residents are expected to gain economic added value and become more widely known to the public. This collaborative effort is expected to drive the wheels of the creative economy at the grassroots level to realize a more advanced and competitive Sukatani.
