Samsung Electronics has officially introduced its latest smartwatch lineup, the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9, at the Galaxy Unpacked event in July 2026 in London, UK. Both wearable devices are specifically designed to monitor users' health conditions in real-time throughout the day, ranging from sleep quality monitoring and intense workouts to physical recovery phases.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is positioned as a rugged device for high-intensity sports and outdoor adventures. Powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon® Wear Elite Platform chipset, this 47 mm smartwatch promises responsive performance and precise GPS accuracy. Its performance is supported by an 800 mAh capacity battery and a display with a maximum brightness of up to 5,000 nits, which remains clearly visible under direct sunlight.
To support extreme activities, the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is equipped with a Trail Run feature to monitor detailed elevation data. This smartwatch is also reliable underwater thanks to its EN13319 diving certification, 10ATM water resistance, and an IP69K rating. Through a collaboration with Mares, users can access safety decompression indicators while diving. Additionally, the Hydration Guidance feature is ready to provide fluid intake recommendations based on the amount of sweat during workouts.
On the other hand, the Galaxy Watch9 arrives as a daily health assistant with a slimmer body design and 40 mm and 44 mm size options. Powered by a similar processor and a 390 mAh battery, this smartwatch focuses on the Samsung Health ecosystem, which covers five key pillars: activity, mindfulness, nutrition, sleep, and body vitality.
Galaxy Watch9 users can also utilize the Vitals and Sleep Insights features to monitor body metrics while resting. Heart health analysis is now easier to understand through the Heart Health Score feature, which combines stress levels, sleep quality, and body composition index. Finally, the Fitness Index and Daily Cardio Load indicators are also included to help users set safe workout targets and avoid excessive physical fatigue.
