The quality of maternal and child health (MCH) services in Siak Regency is showing a significant upward trend. This has been achieved after one year of implementing the KAPASITAS Program, a collaborative initiative focusing on strengthening the capacity of medical personnel, improving referral systems, and empowering communities to reduce stunting rates.

The program was initiated by PT Riau Andalan Pulp and Paper (RAPP), a member of the APRIL Group, in collaboration with the Siak Regency Government and the humanitarian organization DokterSHARE. The evaluation and closing of the one-year program were presented at the Results Dissemination event in Siak in late July, which was attended by local stakeholders.

Since its launch, the program has targeted five main community health centers (puskesmas)—Dayun, Kerinci Kanan, Lubuk Dalam, Koto Gasib, and Sungai Mandau—and involved 13 auxiliary health centers (pustu). Facilitative supervision results showed that service compliance rates across all assisted health centers exceeded 90 percent. Dayun and Lubuk Dalam health centers recorded the highest compliance at 98.90 percent, followed by Koto Gasib (97.06 percent), Kerinci Kanan (97.05 percent), and Sungai Mandau (95.96 percent).

The Head of the Siak Regency Health Office, dr. Handry, appreciated the concrete contribution from this private sector. He emphasized that addressing basic health issues such as stunting prevention requires solid cross-sector collaboration. The donation of ultrasonography (USG) machines from RAPP to the five health centers is considered highly beneficial for earlier and more accurate monitoring of pregnant women's conditions.

Similar support was expressed by the Expert Staff to the Regent of Siak for Community and HR, Fakhrurrozi. He hoped that the replication of similar programs could be expanded to other health centers in the Siak area to ensure equitable access to quality healthcare services for all segments of society down to the village level.

Strategic Planning Manager of the Community Development Department at RAPP, Amal Fatullah Randy, explained that the KAPASITAS Program is a tangible manifestation of the company's business philosophy to grow with the community. This social investment in basic healthcare is also part of the Puskesmas Prima Program, which is targeted to reach a total of 43 community health centers in the company's operational areas, including Siak, Pelalawan, Kampar, and Kuantan Singingi.
