TIGARAKSA - The Banten Provincial Government is encouraging academics and students to continue generating innovations to face global challenges in the digital era. This was emphasized by the Deputy Governor of Banten, Achmad Dimyati Natakusumah, while attending the opening of the Banten Technology Festival 2026 at Tangerang Raya University (Untara), Tigaraksa, Tangerang Regency, on Friday (24/7/2026).
During the event initiated by the Pasundan Community (Paguyuban Pasundan), Dimyati stressed that the future landscape of competition is no longer just between human resources, but also with artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics. According to him, mastering technology is absolutely necessary for Indonesia, particularly Banten Province, to stand on equal footing with developed nations across various sectors.
Dimyati also reaffirmed the Banten Provincial Government's commitment to fully support the improvement of human resource quality through technology-based education. After opening the event, the Deputy Governor of Banten took the time to inspect various exhibition booths, including Internet of Things (IoT)-based sensor innovations, Virtual Reality (VR) technology, and the smart watering system (Hydrify Smart Watering) developed by students.
Echoing these sentiments, Tangerang Regent Maesyal Rasyid welcomed the festival's organization. He stated that students' active contribution to mastering technology is crucial for the success of regional development. Maesyal hopes that technology application can be aligned with the real needs of the community to sustainably improve the productivity and standard of living of local residents.
Meanwhile, the Rector of Untara, Mardiyana, declared the university's readiness to produce outstanding, workforce-ready graduates. Given the rapid growth of the industrial sector in the Tangerang Regency area, Untara is committed to supplying local human resources who are skilled and adaptable to modern industrial technology advancements, enabling them to be masters in their own home.
