Jambi Province is currently recording a significant increase in public interest in shooting sports. This is evident from the high participation in the 2026 Kapolda Cup Shooting Championship, which took place over two days, from July 10 to 11, 2026, at the Raden Mattaher Shooting Range, Jambi City.
This competition has become a magnet for various elements of society, including National Police personnel, government representatives, shooting club members, and civilians. The high number of participants serves as a strong indicator that this sport, which emphasizes focus and precision, is beginning to establish a broader base in the Jambi region.
The General Chairman of the Provincial Board of Perbakin Jambi, Raja P. Surbakti, highly appreciated the event. He evaluated that the 2026 Kapolda Cup serves not only as an arena for skill testing but also as a strategic tool for building a more inclusive and sustainable shooting sports ecosystem at the regional level.
Furthermore, Raja hopes this tournament can become a routine agenda to facilitate intensive athlete development. With structured competition, it is hoped that potential young shooters from Jambi will emerge, possessing the capacity and competitiveness to compete at national and international levels in the future.
