The Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affairs (Kemenko PMK) is finalizing strategic steps to accelerate the coverage of the Free Health Check (CKG) Program across Indonesia. One of the latest acceleration efforts prepared by the government is the launch of the National CKG Movement targeting Islamic boarding schools (pondok pesantren).
During the Coordination and Evaluation Meeting for the Implementation of CKG Semester I 2026 in Jakarta, Wednesday (8/7/2026), it was recorded that 57.34 million citizens have accessed this health screening service. This figure is equivalent to 43 percent of the 2026 national target, which is set at 132 million people. The school-age and adolescent group was the largest contributor, reaching 10.68 million people or 63 percent of their target.
Nevertheless, the Deputy for Coordination of Health Quality Improvement at Kemenko PMK, Sukadiono, emphasized the importance of special interventions for newborns, toddlers, and preschool-aged children, whose progress remains slow. Improving primary health services and optimizing Posyandu (integrated health posts) are considered the main keys to reaching these vulnerable groups.
To maintain the momentum of testing, which currently reaches 700,000 examinations per day, the Ministry of Health is also designing an incentive scheme for healthcare workers. The Director General of Primary Health and Health Promotion at the Ministry of Health, Endang Sumiwi, explained that this incentive regulation is currently undergoing trials and will be accommodated through a Draft Presidential Instruction to ensure the sustainability of the program.
On the other hand, the Deputy for Human Development and Development Equitability at the State Secretariat, Johar Arifin, highlighted several field obstacles, such as low participation in some regions and medical logistics distribution issues. As a solution, the government will strengthen socialization by collaborating with community leaders, updating the SATUSEHAT data integration system, and developing offline service features so that access to health checks continues in areas with low signal.
Through the National CKG Movement in Islamic Boarding Schools, Kemenko PMK hopes not only to boost the participation rate of health checks among students (santri) but also to instill and build awareness of a sustainable healthy lifestyle within religious educational environments.
