PT PLN (Persero) Distribution Main Unit (UID) Bali recorded a positive performance in electricity distribution throughout the first half of 2026. Until June, the realization of electricity sales reached 4,111.51 GWh, exceeding the target by 101.50 percent. This achievement also marks a consumption growth of 7.85 percent compared to the same period in the previous year.
General Manager of PLN UID Bali, Ajrun Karim, stated that this increase in energy consumption is a real benchmark of the revival of various economic sectors in the Island of the Gods. The business sector was recorded as the main contributor with total usage reaching 1,898.27 GWh, growing by 8.80 percent. Meanwhile, the industrial sector showed the highest percentage surge of 13.47 percent, followed by the household sector which recorded a consumption growth of 7.17 percent.
This growth in electricity demand was driven significantly by the revival of the tourism industry, from hotel occupancy and accommodation to the culinary sector. In addition, developments in water and waste treatment, as well as the food and beverage industries, also spurred the electricity load in Bali. Ajrun emphasized that the stability of the electricity supply is a crucial foundation for maintaining a conducive investment climate in the region.
In terms of service, PLN UID Bali recorded the addition of 53,943 new customers up to June 2026, an achievement that exceeded the target by 132.81 percent. To guarantee system reliability, PLN currently manages a supply capacity of 1,518 MW, with a peak load recorded at 1,234 MW, ensuring that power reserves are in a safe condition.
In addition to strengthening the main electricity infrastructure, PLN also continues to promote the eco-friendly vehicle ecosystem. A total of 206 Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) are operating in various strategic locations in Bali. This step is part of the company's long-term strategy to support sustainable development and enhance Bali's economic competitiveness in the future.
