Bandung City was chosen to host the eco-friendly automotive technology exhibition, the BYD Tech Culture Fest 2026. For five consecutive days, this interactive exhibition invites residents of the Flower City to experience firsthand the sophistication of green vehicle lineups, including the latest Dual Mode (DM) technology from BYD.
Operation Director of PT BYD Motor Indonesia, Nathan Sun, revealed that the choice of Bandung was based on the high enthusiasm of the local community towards the adoption of electrified vehicles. This event is designed not merely as a visual exhibition, but as an educational platform for the public to directly test the performance and efficiency of the global automaker's technology.
One of the main attractions of the festival is the introduction of Dual Mode (DM) technology, or Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV). The technology, which combines e-Platform 3.0, the Blade Battery, and the latest generation DM platform, offers four main advantages: nimble acceleration, reliability on various road terrains, optimal cabin quietness, and high energy efficiency for both daily commutes and long-distance journeys.
Exhibition visitors are treated to various challenging test-drive attractions. In the Monster Track Offroad area, the toughness of the DENZA B5 is tested through simulations of extreme tracks, such as steep inclines and bumpy obstacles, to prove the stability of the drive system. In addition, there is a Speed Test Ride area allowing visitors to try out the performance of the BYD Seal 6 DM, which will soon be launched in the Indonesian market.
BYD has recorded significant growth since first hitting the roads in Indonesia in 2024. To date, approximately 97,000 units of BYD vehicles have been distributed nationally, with West Java contributing more than 10,500 units. To support this positive trend, BYD aims to expand its dealer network in West Java from the current 15 showrooms to 30 dealers by the end of the year to ensure easy after-sales service.
The presence of this festival received a positive response from the Bandung City Government. Deputy Mayor of Bandung, Erwin, stated that the tech-savvy characteristics of Bandung's people serve as a strong asset for a successful transition to low-emission vehicles. He hopes that the mass adoption of eco-friendly vehicles will help reduce air pollution levels amid heavy urban traffic.
Support also flows from Beyond Community, an association of BYD vehicle owners that now counts more than 3,000 members. General Chairman of Beyond Community, Eko Budiharsono, appreciated BYD's commitment to providing responsive after-sales service, from spare part supplies to periodic software updates, strengthening consumer trust in Indonesia's electric vehicle ecosystem.
