Mount Anak Krakatau, located in the waters of the Sunda Strait, has once again shown a significant increase in volcanic activity. According to the latest monitoring data, the volcano, which is currently at Level III (Alert) status, was recorded to have erupted seven times within a 12-hour period.
This series of eruptions was observed occurring from early Wednesday (8/7) until 09:45 WIB. Volcano monitoring authorities recorded volcanic ash plumes reaching a height of approximately 250 meters above the crater peak.
Local residents and tourists in the coastal areas of the Sunda Strait are advised to remain calm but vigilant. Authorities continue to conduct intensive monitoring to anticipate further changes in volcanic activity to ensure the safety of residents around the affected areas.
