The Provincial Government of Bali has officially solidified the Island of the Gods' position as an epicenter of international economic collaboration through the hosting of the Global Hindu Business Conference (GHBC) 2026. Bringing together business actors from 10 countries, the event serves as a strategic forum to strengthen business networks while promoting Bali's vision for sustainable development.
At a dinner hosted at Jaya Sabha, Bali Governor Wayan Koster warmly welcomed delegates from various countries, including India, Australia, and the United Arab Emirates. Koster emphasized that this momentum aligns with the long-term development strategy, the '100-Year Bali Development Plan (2025–2125),' which places culture and environmental conservation as the core foundation of the region's competitiveness on the global stage.
The conference, themed ‘Towards Dharmanomics: Designing the Future,’ took place at Universitas Hindu Indonesia (UNHI) in Denpasar. The event is a cross-sectoral collaboration involving higher education institutions, global entrepreneurship network organizations, and support from the Bali Convention and Exhibition Bureau (BaliCEB) to ensure international standards of hosting.
In appreciation of contributions to advancing Dharma values and nation-building, the event also presented the 'Prajaniti Dharmaraja Award 2026'. The award was conferred upon several national and international figures, including the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, as well as stakeholders across strategic sectors.
Koster stressed that Bali's future economic strength must remain rooted in traditional custom villages (desa adat). By aligning tourism, culture, and clean economic development, he expressed optimism that Bali can become a development model capable of competing in the global market without losing the identity and spiritual values passed down by ancestors.
