Jakarta — The Government of Belarus has officially declared its readiness to support Indonesia's national food security agenda. This commitment was conveyed directly by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, during a bilateral meeting with the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Thursday (2/7).
On that occasion, President Lukashenko highlighted the importance of modernizing the agricultural sector as a main pillar of the partnership between the two countries. He emphasized that Belarus has a long track record in industrial technology and agricultural mechanization that can be integrated to increase food productivity in Indonesia.
"We are not only offering trade cooperation alone, but also technology transfer and human resource capacity building. Belarus is ready to share knowledge, train the Indonesian workforce, and assist in the development of local industries so that the benefits can be directly felt by the public," Lukashenko said in a press statement.
Furthermore, he detailed that this support includes the provision of modern agricultural equipment such as tractors and industrial support vehicles. Additionally, Belarus is opening opportunities for strategic collaboration through the establishment of joint ventures that prioritize local content requirements, thereby strengthening Indonesia's industrial independence.
In addition to focusing on mechanization, Belarus also expressed readiness to meet the demand for essential food commodities such as dairy and meat products for the Indonesian domestic market. This synergy is part of a bilateral cooperation roadmap projected up to the year 2030.
Lukashenko stressed that this long-term partnership is designed to go beyond conventional trade transactions. By prioritizing technology mastery and industrial infrastructure development, both countries hope to create a sustainable economic impact for the welfare of citizens in both Indonesia and Belarus.
