The habit of consuming black coffee after exercising is often considered an effective method to accelerate physical recovery. However, this view was clarified by health practitioner and entrepreneur, dr. Tirta Mandira Hudhi, who stated that coffee is not the main determining factor in the body's recovery process after physical activity.
Through education on his personal social media, dr. Tirta explained that optimal body recovery after exercise actually depends heavily on three main pillars. These three pillars are fulfilling nutritious food intake, hydrating the body with sufficient electrolytes, and optimal quality of rest for muscle cell regeneration.
Nevertheless, dr. Tirta emphasized that there is no medical prohibition for someone who wants to enjoy coffee after exercising. Coffee consumption is still allowed as long as the individual's body condition supports it and it does not cause negative side effects, even though its function is not to speed up recovery.
In closing, he also jokingly gave practical advice for people to finish cleaning themselves up first before deciding to relax at a coffee shop. According to him, maintaining personal hygiene by showering after exercise is very important for mutual comfort in public spaces.
