The Indonesian Olympic Committee (NOC Indonesia) has officially established the list of the contingent that will represent the "Red and White" in the prestigious 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. A total of 432 of the best athletes from 35 sports are scheduled to compete in Asia's largest multi-sport event, which will run from September 19 to October 4, 2026.
The strength of the Indonesian delegation does not rest solely on the athletes. They will also be accompanied by 148 coaches and officials, and supported by 32 personnel from the Chef de Mission (CdM) team. The determination of this contingent's composition is the result of an in-depth screening and evaluation process involving the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora), the Sport Commission of NOC Indonesia, and the respective national governing bodies of the sports.
The President of NOC Indonesia, Raja Sapta Oktohari, emphasized that all selected athletes have passed through a rigorous selection phase. He stressed that there is no difference in treatment between sports funded by the state budget (APBN) and those departing independently. Three sports, namely boxing, fencing, and table tennis, are confirmed to compete through independent funding, but will still receive equal facilities and services from NOC Indonesia to keep them focused on hunting for medals.
On the other side, technical preparations such as logistics, accommodation, and match operations are guaranteed to run smoothly. The Chef de Mission of Team Indonesia, Todotua Pasaribu, is committed to providing the best service on the field so that the athletes can compete without non-technical burdens. Through this cross-sectoral collaboration, Indonesia is optimistic about maintaining consistent achievement and competing at the top level in Asia.
