BPJS Kesehatan management has officially clarified information circulating on social media regarding claims for transportation cost reimbursement for National Health Insurance (JKN) participants. Through its official Instagram account @bpjskesehatan_ri, the institution emphasized that claims stating transportation costs to go to the hospital can be covered by BPJS are false or a hoax.
This clarification was released following a surge in posts misleading the public about claim procedures. BPJS Kesehatan stated that to date, there is no policy or regulation allowing participants to claim transportation expenses, including fuel costs, toll fees, or public transportation fares when seeking treatment at a healthcare facility.
Furthermore, BPJS Kesehatan stressed that JKN service coverage is strictly limited to medical financing in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Coverage does not include the operational costs of a patient's personal travel to a healthcare facility or hospital.
In response to this situation, health authorities urged the public to always verify any information circulating through official BPJS Kesehatan channels. The public is asked to remain vigilant and not easily believe news from unverified sources to avoid potential fraud or the spread of misinformation.
