Regent of Belitung, Djoni Alamsyah, emphasized the position of the Indonesian Medical Association (IDI) as a strategic partner of the government in efforts to strengthen public health resilience. This was conveyed directly by the Regent during the inauguration ceremony of the Belitung and East Belitung IDI Branch leadership for the 2025–2028 term in Tanjungpandan on Sunday (12/6/2026).

In his remarks, Djoni expressed deep appreciation for the dedication of medical personnel who have been at the forefront of healthcare services. He expressed hope that the newly inaugurated leadership will carry out their mandate with high integrity to advance the professional organization so that it remains relevant to public needs.

Furthermore, Djoni highlighted various challenges in the health sector that still require intensive collaboration between the local government and professional organizations. Key focus areas that must be addressed include an equitable distribution of healthcare workers, strengthening promotional and preventive efforts, and raising public awareness about healthy lifestyles.

Closing his message, the Regent reminded everyone that the effectiveness of the IDI lies in the solidarity and collective vision of all its members, not merely individual leadership. He called on the newly appointed board to walk hand in hand so that every health challenge can be overcome to ensure the public receives access to quality medical services.
