Garut Regency has once again achieved a brilliant milestone in the national football arena. The regional women's football team recently secured the runner-up title in the Hydroplus Soccer League All Stars U-18 competition. In recognition of this achievement, the Regent of Garut, Abdusy Syakur Amin, officially expressed his appreciation while hosting the team at the Garut Regent's Office on Monday (13/7/2026).
During the occasion, Abdusy Syakur Amin expressed his pride in the dedication of the young athletes who successfully reached the final of the national-scale competition. According to him, this success proves that sports talent in Garut is highly competitive and deserves full attention and support from both the regional government and relevant stakeholders.
Looking to the future, the Regent hopes this momentum will serve as a stepping stone for the athletes to reach higher levels of achievement. Considering that most team members are projected to compete in the Provincial Sports Week (Porprov), he stressed the importance of training discipline and the continuity of development programs to maintain optimal team performance in the future.
Furthermore, the Regent also instructed the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) of Garut Regency to be more proactive in strengthening the competitive sports development system. He considers regular tournaments to be an absolute strategic step to scout talented prospects across various sports branches.
As a tangible form of motivation, the Regent handed over cash rewards (uang kadeudeuh) as an appreciation for the players' hard work on the field. This step is expected to boost the athletes' spirit to continue excelling while serving as motivation for Garut's younger generation to bring pride to their region through sports.
