After more than three years of actively gracing the Vietnamese entertainment stage through various television programs and national-scale events, singer Anh Tú has officially launched his first solo musical product. Following his success on The Masked Singer Vietnam Season 2, Anh Tú chose to be patient in releasing work to ensure the quality of the resulting material truly represents his current artistic vision.
The single titled "This Time I'm Letting Go," composed by musician Thanh Hưng, marks Anh Tú's return to his musical roots: pop ballad. Unlike his usual singing style filled with dramatization and explosive emotion, this time he delivers the song with a calmer and more restrained approach. He revealed he wanted to convey a narrative of self-acceptance and the healing process after going through difficult times.
The philosophical touch in this song refers to Leonard Cohen's thought about "cracks" as the opening for light to enter the soul. Anh Tú wants to emphasize that past trauma is not the end of everything, but rather an opportunity to grow into a stronger individual. This philosophy is reinforced by director Khuong Vu's direction in the music video, which is rich in cinematic and nostalgic nuances.
In the music video, Anh Tú stars alongside newcomer actress Thu Hà Ceri. The two portray the dynamics of a warm relationship that ultimately leads to a breakup, leaving behind old habits that are hard to forget. With an intentionally open-ended ending, the singer hopes listeners can interpret the song's message based on their own personal experiences.
