The board of the Indonesian Community Sports Committee (KORMI) of Jember Regency for the 2025-2030 service period has been officially inaugurated. The inauguration of the 25 new board members was led directly by the General Chairperson of KORMI East Java, Debi Sisilia Samoa, at the Wahyawibawagraha Pavilion on Monday (27/7/2026). This momentum marks the first step in strengthening the community sports movement at the local level through cross-sector collaboration.
The newly inaugurated Chairman of KORMI Jember, Tri Basuki, expressed his commitment to extending the culture of healthy living to remote areas. One of the flagship programs proposed is the establishment of sports villages throughout the Jember region. KORMI also targets the implementation of routine sports activities in every sub-district to encourage active participation from residents.
In addition to focusing on popularizing sports, KORMI Jember will strengthen the guidance for the local Sports Organization Parent (INORGA). Strategic synergy will be built with the local government and MSME players, alongside the optimal use of social media to expand the reach of the healthy lifestyle campaign.
Meanwhile, the General Chairperson of KORMI East Java, Debi Sisilia Samoa, emphasized that this step aligns with the national Active Indonesia Movement program. The program encourages the public to make a habit of being active for at least 30 minutes a day to realize a healthy generation towards Golden Indonesia 2045. Debi hopes the new board can collaborate closely with stakeholders in Jember.
The Regent of Jember, Muhammad Fawait, welcomed the initiative and expressed the local government's readiness to synergize. The man, familiarly known as Gus Fawait, emphasized that every KORMI program must not be merely ceremonial, but must have a tangible impact on improving public health, achieving sports milestones, and driving the local economy.
