The Bandung City Government has reaffirmed its commitment to overseeing the restructuring and management cooperation process for the Bandung Zoo. Currently, the strategic project is entering the business calculation phase while continuing to prioritize full compliance with applicable legal provisions.
Mayor of Bandung, Muhammad Farhan, firmly stated that the government will not meddle in the commercial domain of the agreement. The role of the Bandung City Government is restricted to that of an overseer to ensure all terms of the agreement do not violate government rules and regulations.
"As Mayor, I restrain myself from getting involved in the business agreement. My focus is to ensure that this entire process runs within existing regulatory corridors," Farhan said when met at the Bandung Arena Sports Hall on Saturday (7/4/2026).
Farhan is optimistic that all stages can be fully completed throughout July 2026. He also confirmed that the auction winner has fulfilled the initial financial obligation in the form of an annual contribution of IDR 4.3 billion, paid just two days after being declared the winner.
The next step for the Bandung City Government is to finalize all administrative requirements. Once all business interests are aligned with legal provisions, the Bandung City Government and the manager will promptly sign the Cooperation Agreement (PKS) as a finalization of the partnership.
