The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) has reaffirmed its commitment to securing state revenue through active collection actions. Most recently, the tax authority officially blocked the accounts of 57 taxpayers identified as having significant arrears.

Based on collected data, the total arrears of these dozens of taxpayers reached a fantastic figure of IDR 80 billion. This legal action was taken as a last resort after the taxpayers in question were deemed to have shown no good faith in settling their tax obligations, despite having received prior warnings.

Account blocking is one of the collection instruments regulated in tax regulations to prevent taxpayer assets from being transferred or misused before state obligations are met. The DJP emphasized that this action aims to increase voluntary compliance while providing a deterrent effect for other tax defaulters.

Going forward, the DJP urges all taxpayers to immediately settle their obligations in an orderly manner to avoid more severe administrative or legal consequences, including asset seizure and travel bans abroad.
