Boosting Athlete Achievement and Education, Central KONI Partners with RRI to Expand Media Collaboration

Central KONI and RRI extend their partnership to expand national sports publication through podcasts, special coverage, and socializing the implementation of the scientific sport intelligence method.

The National Sports Committee of Indonesia (KONI) Central is exploring the expansion of collaboration with the Public Broadcasting Institution Radio Republik Indonesia (LPP RRI). This strategic step is taken to strengthen the publication and education ecosystem, as well as to popularize various achievement sports branches in the country more massively.

Through this cooperation, RRI is committed to providing a special space for national sports content. The Head of the RRI News Center, Metty, expressed their readiness to present podcast programs and interactive interviews with KONI-fostered athletes through the Pro 3 broadcast channel. This activity is designed flexibly through the use of online platforms like Zoom to accommodate athletes busy with training camps.

Not only airing on the radio, the interview content and in-depth coverage will also be converted into visual formats on RRI's official YouTube channel and distributed as short clips on various social media platforms to reach a wider youth audience.

The Chairman of the Media and Public Relations Division of Central KONI, Tirto Prima Putra, highlighted the importance of this collaboration amidst the lack of national media attention on the struggles of regional athletes. According to him, sports coverage should not be limited to medal-winning moments but must also highlight the process of building national character, such as discipline, sportsmanship, and compliance with rules.

In addition to promoting athletes, this partnership will also socialize the importance of implementing sport intelligence in Indonesia. The Chairman of the Sport Intelligence Division of Central KONI, Eman Sungkowo, emphasized that a scientific approach based on data analysis is crucial to be introduced from the grassroots level so that coaches can formulate measurable competition strategies, rather than relying on intuition.

This dynamic partnership between Central KONI and RRI is also prepared to oversee the publication of several upcoming major sports events, including the National Martial Arts Games (PON) in Manado and the Beach PON in Ancol at the end of 2026. Both institutions agreed that media promotion must be built early to maintain the sustainability of community and government support for the advancement of national sports.
