The South Sulawesi Provincial Government is actively encouraging the younger generation to integrate sports activities into their daily routines. This step is considered crucial for shaping the character of future generations who are not only physically healthy but also possess high levels of discipline, creativity, and productivity.
Head of the South Sulawesi Youth and Sports Service (Dispora), Suherman, delivered this message while attending the "Nonton Bareng Bola Gembira" (Joyful Football Joint Screening) event in Makassar on Sunday (12/7/2026). He emphasized that the regional government is committed to making the sports sector one of the main pillars in supporting sustainable regional development.
Furthermore, Suherman hopes that South Sulawesi can host more national-scale sports events. This initiative is expected to spark enthusiasm for nurturing local athletes who can eventually compete at the national and international levels while honoring Indonesia on the world stage.
On the same occasion, the government also appreciated the contribution of the media, particularly TVRI South Sulawesi, which is considered consistent in presenting educational broadcasts to foster togetherness and a love for sports among the public. This synergy is deemed essential for maintaining public enthusiasm for an active lifestyle.
As part of supporting efforts, the South Sulawesi Provincial Government also continues to accelerate the development of strategic infrastructure. Targeted improvements in road connectivity and inter-regional access aim to facilitate the mobility of residents, tourists, and the smooth distribution of logistics to support the success of various sporting events in the region.
