Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) officially dispatched 45 students from the Mechanical Engineering Department of the Faculty of Engineering to carry out a collaborative research program at Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), Malaysia. This strategic step was taken to broaden academic horizons and sharpen students' research capabilities at the international level.

During the research period, participants will focus on exploring two crucial areas in future technology: the optimization of renewable energy and the development of natural fiber-based composite materials. This research focus was chosen in response to the global demand for more environmentally friendly materials compared to conventional synthetic options.

Vice Dean of Business, Research, and Cooperation at FT Unnes, Rusiyanto, emphasized that student participation reflects the university's commitment to supporting the global energy transition. Through direct access to UMPSA's modern laboratory facilities, students are expected to not only gain knowledge but also produce highly reputable, innovative research outputs.

The program is designed to align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in quality education, access to clean energy, and promoting responsible consumption and production patterns. It is hoped that this global experience will shape adaptive graduates ready to contribute to accelerating the green industry in Indonesia upon their return.
