The North Lombok Regency Government presented an award certificate to Dompet Dhuafa through the Free Health Service (LKC) of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). This appreciation was given for the institution's dedication to strengthening the public health system, particularly in remote areas through the "Midwives for the Nation" program.
The award presentation ceremony took place during the 18th Anniversary Gala Dinner of North Lombok Regency on Monday (20/7/2026). This moment was also marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for development partnership by the Regent of North Lombok, Najmul Akhyar, and the Head of the North Lombok Health Office, Lalu Bahrudin.
This collaboration is focused in Senaru Village, Bayan District, with an emphasis on improving Maternal and Child Health (MCH) programs, controlling Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), and upgrading community-based environmental sanitation. The placement of midwives in the village is considered a spearhead in overcoming limited medical access in remote areas.
A representative of LKC Dompet Dhuafa NTB stated that this award is a great responsibility to continue collaborating. They are committed to expanding service coverage to help residents who do not yet have access to adequate health facilities.
Through the direct placement of medical personnel in residential areas, midwives not only handle childbirth and toddler development but also provide ongoing preventive education. This synergistic step is expected to accelerate the reduction of maternal and infant mortality rates nationally.
