The Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) has taken a strategic step to boost national oil and gas production targets through intensive collaboration with three global energy technology providers: Halliburton, SLB, and Baker Hughes. This synergy was realized in a Technology Sharing forum involving SKK Migas management and representatives from 20 Production Sharing Contract (PSC) contractors (KKKS).
Head of SKK Migas, Djoko Siswanto, emphasized that amid the challenging complexity of oil and gas field management, mastering and applying cutting-edge technology is an absolute prerequisite. According to him, innovation is not merely a supplement, but the main instrument in a grand strategy to increase operational efficiency and maximize the potential of existing resources in the country.
This forum also served as a critical evaluation momentum for the upstream industry's performance achievements up to mid-2026. In addition to discussing the implementation of PSC work programs, discussions focused on mapping oil and gas lifting target projections through the end of the year, which is expected to strengthen future national energy security.
Furthermore, SKK Migas is committed to continuing to facilitate the integration of new technologies across various activity lines, ranging from drilling processes and mature well optimization to techniques for improving the recovery factor in new fields. Djoko hopes that the results of this discussion will be promptly implemented on the ground to accelerate Indonesia's oil and gas production.
