A wave of protests arrived at the Regional Representative Council (DPRD) building of Langkat Regency on Tuesday (20/7/2026). The crowd, joined under the Langkat Youth and Student Alliance One, demanded firm action from the local government against the existence of nightlife venues deemed disturbing to the public.
During the peaceful protest held on T. Amir Hamzah Street, Stabat, the demonstrators specifically urged the government to immediately close and dismantle the Blue Night discotheque. The nightlife venue, located in Emplasmen Village, Sei Bingai District, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra, is considered to have caused anxiety among local residents.
Responding to these demands, the legislature expressed its support for the residents' aspirations. In addition to agreeing on the plan to close the discotheque in question, the Langkat DPRD also proposed a further step, namely conducting a comprehensive evaluation of the permits and operations of all nightlife venues in the Langkat Regency area.
