Leading technology manufacturer Acer Indonesia has officially expanded its business into the home appliances sector by launching a new air conditioning (AC) lineup named Acerpure Chill. This strategic move was announced during an event in Sanur, Denpasar, Bali, in response to high domestic market demand for efficient and energy-saving household devices.
President Director of Acer Indonesia, Leny Ng, explained that the presence of Acerpure Chill aims to complement the home electronic product ecosystem that was previously established. She emphasized that public demand for clean, cool, and comfortable indoor air quality continues to rise significantly, making expansion into the air conditioning segment a logical step for the company.
Prior to launching this AC lineup, the Acerpure sub-brand had already marketed a variety of household appliances in Indonesia, ranging from air purifiers, air fryers, vacuum cleaners, to personal care products. For its latest AC category, Acer offers various types ranging from standard, inverter, to portable ACs, with a competitive price range from IDR 3.99 million to IDR 8.49 million.
CEO of Acerpure Inc. Acer Group, Stanley Kao, stated that this innovation was designed to get closer to consumers' daily lives. To strengthen competitiveness against established players in the national electronics market, Acer provides an extended after-sales warranty, covering spare parts and service for five years, as well as a compressor warranty for up to ten years. This product will be widely marketed through official networks in Java, Sumatra, Bali, and various leading e-commerce platforms.
The diversification step taken by Acer reflects a global trend where computing manufacturers seek new revenue streams outside the increasingly mature PC and laptop market. The entry of major tech brands into the home appliances sector is projected to intensify competition in the national electronics industry while demonstrating that Indonesia's modern home appliance market still holds promising growth potential.
