The Madiun City Government has once again shown its prowess in the international creative arena through the art and digital technology festival, Padhang Mbranang 2026. This prestigious annual event was officially opened by the Acting Mayor of Madiun, F Bagus Panuntun, at the Madiun City Hall area on Friday (24/7/2026) evening.

The opening was symbolically marked by the lighting of an interactive visual installation, marking the start of the festival series over the next three days. One of the main attractions of this year's event is the Southeast Asian regional video mapping competition, where 15 selected finalist works are projected directly onto the outer wall of the Madiun City Hall building, which has been transformed into a giant screen.

The high enthusiasm of foreign participants proves that this festival is increasingly recognized as a regional benchmark for digital visual art. To maintain the quality and objectivity of the assessment, the organizers involved international professional judges, consisting of three video mapping experts from Bandung and one expert panelist from Malaysia.

In addition to showcasing visual projections on the city hall building, visitors are also offered a sensory adventure through the Digital Art Experience facility located in the area below the Merlion Statue replica. This interactive attraction based on cutting-edge technology was immediately crowded with residents eager to experience immersive art firsthand.

In his remarks, the Acting Mayor of Madiun, F Bagus Panuntun, emphasized the local government's commitment to making Padhang Mbranang a major catalyst for the regional creative economy ecosystem. This collaborative event is expected not only to entertain the local community but also to place Madiun City on par with other creative cities internationally.
