The Jambi Provincial Government is encouraging the optimization of energy and natural resource (SDA) sector management while continuing to prioritize environmental sustainability. This emphasis was delivered by the Regional Secretary of Jambi Province, Sudirman, while attending the 2026 Jambi Province Economy and Business Forum at Swiss-Belhotel Jambi, Thursday (23/7/2026).
This strategic forum, initiated by the Representative Office of Bank Indonesia for Jambi Province, carried an important theme regarding the prospects of Jambi's energy sector, particularly related to the coal Work Plan and Budget (RKAB) policy as well as oil and gas (migas) lifting targets. The meeting brought together representatives from government, academia, business actors, and financial institutions to formulate directions for sustainable economic policies.
In his briefing, Regional Secretary Sudirman warned that the exploitation and optimization of natural resource potential, both coal and oil/gas, always has a dual impact on the economy and the ecosystem. Therefore, he urged that the governance of this sector must not ignore environmental sustainability to avoid damage that harms the wider community.
Furthermore, Sudirman expressed optimism regarding Jambi's economic growth in the third quarter of 2026. Although the current growth rate is in the range of four percent and the inflation rate is recorded at 3.85 percent, close collaboration between agencies is believed to be able to maintain positive and inclusive regional economic stability.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Representative of Bank Indonesia for Jambi Province, Robby Fathir Nashary, explained that this forum serves as an important discussion space to map global challenges and find concrete solutions. BI hopes that the results of the studies in this forum can serve as a reference for formulating targeted fiscal and operational policies for the welfare of the Jambi community.
