SAROLANGUN – In order to improve the accessibility of medical services in rural areas, PT Bahana Karya Semesta (BKS) and PT Primatama Kreasimas (PTK) synergized to hold a free medical treatment social service for the community of Sarolangun Regency, Jambi. This humanitarian activity, in collaboration with the Buddha Tzu Chi Foundation Indonesia, was centered in the Pauh District Office Hall on Friday (31/7/2026) and will continue to the Air Hitam District.
This social action targets health services for at least 600 residents divided equally between the two districts. In addition to handling general complaints such as diabetes, hypertension, fever, and respiratory tract infections, this program also facilitates patients requiring cataract surgery as well as cleft lip surgery free of charge.
Representative of the Jambi 2 Regional Office (RC) Management, Fahrizal, explained that this medical service is supported by six experienced doctors brought in from Jakarta, PT Sinarmas internal team, and the Pauh Health Center (Puskesmas). For advanced medical treatment such as cataract and cleft lip surgery, the entire medical handling process of the patients will be facilitated directly in Jambi City.
The management added that this initiative was born out of concern for the financial limitations and transport access obstacles often faced by rural communities to reach formal health facilities. Through this corporate social responsibility (CSR) program, it is hoped that the burden on the community can be lightened so that their productivity can recover.
The Sarolangun Regency Government highly appreciated this collaborative program. Expert Staff to the Regent of Sarolangun, Hendrik Andilala, stated that this private sector step is in line with the regional health program titled "Dokter Maju" (Forward Doctor). This partnership is expected to expand the scope of medical services to remote areas that lack transportation facilities.
Echoing this, the Head of Pauh District, Ahmad Mawaddah, appreciated the company's social sensitivity to the needs of its citizens, especially the elderly group requiring cataract treatment. He urged all beneficiaries to optimize this opportunity and consistently maintain a healthy lifestyle in accordance with doctor's recommendations.
