The Indonesian Pencak Silat Association (IPSI) of Malang Regency has officially set a high target for the upcoming X Provincial Sports Week (Porprov), which will be held in Surabaya in 2027. This traditional martial arts sport aims to achieve ten gold medals as a benchmark for the success of local athletes' achievements.

The Chairman of IPSI Malang Regency, Zia’Ulhaq, emphasized that this figure is not just a quantitative target. Beyond that, this target serves as a catalyst for the management to optimize the athlete development system, starting from the early childhood level to preparation for professional competition.

“The target of 10 gold medals at the East Java Porprov is our main mission. This step must be accompanied by consistent quality of training as a true representation of the great potential possessed by the people of Malang Regency,” said Zia’Ulhaq on Sunday (4/7/2026).

To realize this ambition, IPSI Malang Regency has formulated three strategic pillars. The main focus includes strengthening unity among silat schools, continuously improving athlete performance, and building a disciplined character for all silat fighters in the region.

Zia’Ulhaq also emphasized the importance of synergy among all elements of silat schools in Malang Regency. He invited all schools to set aside sectoral ego differences and unite under the banner of IPSI, for one big goal: to bring honor to the region through achievements in the sports arena.
