The board of the South Lampung Regency Karang Taruna is finalizing a major plan to hold the Mount Rajabasa Climbing Competition on October 26–28, 2026. The event, themed "Explore Spirit of Local Wisdom: Rajabasa Mountain – The Power Icon of South Lampung", is designed to unite youth spirit, environmental conservation, and the promotion of regional potential, while also marking the end of the management term for the 2022–2027 period.
This strategic plan was presented directly in an audience forum with the Regent of South Lampung, Radityo Egi Pratama, at the Regent's Official Residence on Tuesday evening (28/7/2026). This important meeting was also attended by local regional officials, including the Assistant for Governance and Welfare of the Regional Secretariat M. Darmawan, Head of the Social Affairs Agency Puji Sukanto, and Head of the National Unity and Politics Agency (Kesbangpol) Martoni Sani.
Chairman of South Lampung Karang Taruna, Sahirul Hidayat, explained that the event, which coincides with Youth Pledge Day (Hari Sumpah Pemuda), carries three main integrated agendas. In addition to the physical climbing competition to test the resilience and unity of the youth, the committee is also holding a creative visualization competition to document local wisdom and a real action of reforestation movement in the forest area of Mount Rajabasa.
To ensure the success of the event, the Secretary General of South Lampung Karang Taruna, Saefunnaim, hopes for full support from the Regency Government. His party proposed an official instruction from the Community and Village Empowerment Agency (PMD) for each village to send their best representatives, the involvement of security elements from BPBD (Regional Disaster Management Agency) and Damkarmat (Fire and Rescue Department), and exploring cooperation with the industrial sector through the CSR Forum.
Responding to the plan, Regent Radityo Egi Pratama stated the local government's commitment to fully support the entire series of activities. On the other hand, he also reminded the importance of strengthening the organization internally by asking the Karang Taruna board to immediately complete the management restructuring process in accordance with applicable legal regulations for the progress of the region.
