The Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) now assumes full authority over the Standard Classification of Indonesian Business Fields (KBLI) in the sports sector. This strategic move was taken as part of the government's efforts to strengthen the domestic sports industry ecosystem, while providing legal certainty for business actors in the field.
With this new mandate, Kemenpora will manage Risk-Based Business Licensing (PBBR) services. Currently, the ministry is finalizing various technical preparations, ranging from drafting regulations and operational systems to upgrading human resource competencies. The entire licensing process is targeted to be fully operational through the Online Single Submission Risk-Based Approach (OSS-RBA) system by mid-2026.
Acting Deputy for Sports Industry Development, Andry Manuella Ginting, stated that this transition of authority will create a much more transparent and efficient business climate. According to him, clear licensing standards will attract investment interest and stimulate economic growth through the sports sector, ranging from stadium facility construction to the management of specialized sports zones.
As an initial step, nine KBLI codes are now under Kemenpora's oversight, including the management of other sports facilities, organization of sports events, and hunting activities in designated areas. This policy is expected to boost the professionalism of business operators in the national sports industry.
Going forward, Kemenpora is committed to providing intensive guidance and continuous supervision for business entities. This aims to ensure that the established standards are evenly implemented across all regions of Indonesia, guaranteeing sustainability and quality service in the sports sector.
