The Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) of the Republic of Indonesia continues to optimize the use of large-scale sporting events as a driving force for the people's economy. Through the integration of public agendas and the empowerment of business actors, high-crowd moments are expected to open up wider marketing opportunities for local products.
One concrete manifestation of these efforts was seen at the public viewing of the World Cup match at Saparua Field, Bandung City, on Saturday (11/7/2026). This event was the result of cross-sectoral collaboration between the Ministry of MSMEs, the West Java Department of Cooperatives and Small Businesses, Bank bjb, Jamkrida Jabar, and various other strategic partners. Thousands of attending citizens helped revive the MSME ecosystem through transactions at the culinary and creative product booths provided.
Deputy for Medium Enterprises of the Ministry of MSMEs, Bagus Rachman, emphasized that this synergy is a future model for MSME development. According to him, a collaborative approach that unites entertainment elements and trading spaces is an effective strategy to directly increase the income of business actors in public spaces.
"We want to ensure that every public agenda provides a concrete economic impact. MSMEs are the backbone of the economy closest to the daily lives of the community, so their involvement must be a priority in the organization of every activity," said Bagus in his statement.
On the other hand, business actors also felt the positive impact of this policy. April, one of the vendors at the event location, stated that involvement in the activity was able to significantly boost turnover compared to regular days. She hopes the government will continue to consistently provide well-organized business spaces in the future.
Looking ahead, the government is committed to continuing to strengthen synergies between state-owned enterprises (BUMN), local governments, and the banking sector. The hope is that MSMEs will not only get space to sell, but also assistance in accessing financing and expanding their marketing networks, so that regional economic growth can be felt evenly and sustainably.
