Efforts to address stunting in Garessi Village received a new boost through the initiative of Hasanuddin University (Unhas) Health Profession Community Service (KKN) students. During a work program seminar held at the Garessi Village Office Hall, they officially launched the LENTERA (Integrated Educational Steps Towards a Healthy Family) program as a concrete step to reduce stunting rates in the area.

The LENTERA program is specifically designed based on field observations to provide intensive mentoring for families vulnerable to stunting. In addition, the students also introduced a digital innovation in the form of an Information Corner utilizing QR codes on educational posters, making it easier for residents to access information about stunting and Posyandu (integrated health post) schedules via their devices.

The Head of Garessi Village, Abdul Wahid, welcomed this initiative and hoped that the presence of the KKN students would deliver a tangible, sustainable impact. He emphasized the importance of direct interaction with the community so that students could apply their knowledge while helping to solve real health issues in the village.

The Village Coordinator for the Unhas Health Profession KKN, Achmad Adlansyah Ramadhan, explained that this program promotes a participatory approach. Close collaboration between the village government, health cadres, and residents is crucial so that this program can continue to run independently and sustainably even after the KKN period ends.

This tactical step taken by the Unhas students is also aligned with the achievement of the third point of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all. Cross-sector synergy from various health disciplines is expected to accelerate the reduction of stunting rates at the family level.
