The Regent of Klungkung, I Made Satria, directly reviewed the field assessment of the "Nyegara Gunung Experience" Innovation Competition held at TPST3R Besan Village, Dawan District, on Wednesday (8/7/2026). This program promotes a regenerative tourism model that combines comprehensive environmental restoration efforts from upstream to downstream with the revitalization of Bali's unique cosmology.
In his briefing, Regent Satria highly appreciated the breakthrough. He emphasized that the Klungkung Regency Government's vision now focuses on tourism development that does not merely chase economic growth figures, but also places environmental preservation and cultural sustainability as top priorities for community welfare.
"The regional government is fully committed to encouraging adaptive and collaborative innovation. We hope this practice does not stop at the competition level, but can be replicated in other villages so that local potential becomes a driving force for solution-oriented regional development," said Regent Satria. He also asked the assessment team from Bali Province to provide strategic input for the program's optimal development.
Echoing this sentiment, the Chairman of the Bali Swacita Nugraha Innovation Competition Assessment Team, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Wayan Supartha, M.S., stated that the "Nyegara Gunung Experience" holds high strategic value. According to him, this innovation successfully integrates the Segara Gunung philosophy as the spirit of modern tourism management that not only attracts tourists but also plays an active role in restoring natural ecosystems.
Through this initiative, Klungkung Regency hopes to become a benchmark for destination development that harmonizes economic interests with environmental conservation, while preserving Bali's cultural heritage for future generations.
