The dry season hitting the Bogor Regency region has triggered a serious clean water crisis in Karang Tengah Village, Babakan Madang District. The majority of residents in Ciburial Village and Landeuh Village must now struggle to obtain water supplies for daily needs.
The Bogor Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) reported that the worst conditions occurred in Ciburial Village. Because local water sources have dried up and residents' wells no longer produce water, inhabitants are forced to travel all the way to the Mount Pancar area to get clean water.
Based on BPBD assessment data, this crisis affects at least 120 households (KK) or approximately 555 individuals. Head of the Emergency and Logistics Division of Bogor Regency BPBD, M Adam Hamdani, detailed that there are 70 households in Ciburial Village and 50 households in Landeuh Village requiring urgent assistance due to climate anomalies causing rainfall to drop drastically.
As an emergency response measure, the Bogor Regency BPBD Rapid Response Team distributed 10,000 liters of clean water using tanker trucks to the affected location. Although a temporary clean water supply has been distributed to ease the burden on residents, the BPBD continues to monitor the situation on the ground as groundwater reserves continue to shrink due to the prolonged drought.
