The 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, made a working visit to Mesuji Regency, Lampung, on Friday (26/6/2026). His arrival aimed to attend the Regional Coordination Meeting (Rakorda) of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), a moment that caught the spotlight amidst national political dynamics.

PSI Central Executive Board Chairman, Bestari Barus, confirmed that Jokowi's presence was intended to provide direction to all party cadres. In his speech, Jokowi is scheduled to outline his views on the current political constellation, as well as emphasize the urgency of solid support for the administration of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

Jokowi's presence this time drew attention due to his personal appearance, which openly displayed the PSI identity. Wearing a hat and a t-shirt featuring the party logo since departing from Solo, this action was interpreted as an affirmation of his political position, which has now anchored with the rose-logo party, while ending speculation regarding his post-presidential political affiliation.

Although the symbolism of support was clearly visible, Bestari stated that an announcement regarding Jokowi's formal position within the PSI organizational structure will not be made in the near future. The party is still awaiting internal mechanisms to determine the appropriate strategic role for the figure considered a political patron by the cadres.

Jokowi himself had previously stated that he would abide by the party's organizational mechanisms. Until now, neither PSI internal sources nor Jokowi have provided further details regarding the official position he will hold, while continuing to strengthen the party's support base for the future direction of national policy.
