Jakarta is back in the sports world spotlight following the arrival of Portuguese football maestro Luís Figo. The presence of the 2000 Ballon d'Or winner became the main magnet of the HGI Football Party 2026 event, held at fX Sudirman, Jakarta, on Sunday (12/7/2026).

The event, initiated by the Higgs Games Island (HGI) platform, was not just a fan meet-and-greet, but also a platform to introduce the concept of "mind sports" in Indonesia. This concept emphasizes the combination of analytical skills, strategic intelligence, and rapid decision-making, akin to the skills Figo displayed on the green field.

HGI representative Ray stated that Luís Figo's involvement serves as an inspiration for mind sports enthusiasts. According to him, an athlete's ability to read the game and make crucial decisions closely aligns with the philosophy developed within a responsible digital strategy gaming ecosystem.

Full support was also provided by the National Community Sports Committee of Indonesia (KORMINAS). The synergy between HGI and KORMINAS aims to build an inclusive and professional mind sports ecosystem rooted in cultural values and local regulations. This is considered a strategic step to engage the tech-savvy younger generation.

During his visit, Figo interacted directly with the eight finalists of the #JugglingBolaHGI competition. The presence of this iconic figure is expected to spark the youth's enthusiasm to continuously hone their strategic thinking skills, both through physical sports and competency development via digital platforms.

Beyond the successful event in Jakarta, HGI continues to expand the reach of its national tournaments. Following the success of the HGI City Cup 2026 in Makassar, which received full government support, the platform now aims to have dominoes and other strategy games recognized as competitive mind sports disciplines with high integrity for their users.
