Students from the Constitutional Law (HTN) Study Program at Maliki Islamic University have once again brought honor to their campus after achieving success at the National Student Political Debate Competition. The prestigious competition, held at Semarang State University from May 22–24, 2026, served as a platform for students to test their critical thinking skills and political rhetoric.
The delegation team, consisting of Habib Rijik Shihab, Diva Kurnia Dwi Salsabila, and Maiya Hasanatud Daroini, managed to secure 3rd Place nationally. Furthermore, the team's achievement was topped off when Habib Rijik Shihab was named Best Speaker, an appreciation for his skill in constructing arguments and mastering public speaking techniques.
This success was not without drama, as the team experienced a technical issue regarding the scoring system that nearly halted their progress to the semifinals. However, thanks to the delegation's professional attitude and persistence in filing an objection, the committee eventually conducted a review that secured their place in the top four. This moment served as motivation for the team to deliver an even more impressive performance.
This achievement was not an instant result, but the fruit of intensive preparation including routine debate simulations, research on current political issues, and strengthening coordination among members. This victory is expected to inspire other students to be braver in exploring their potential and achieving success in broader competition arenas, both nationally and internationally.
