Facing increasingly challenging culinary industry dynamics, Pizza Hut Indonesia successfully recorded a significant financial performance turnaround throughout 2025. The company recorded same-store sales growth (SSSG) of 10.2 percent, a 9.1 percent increase in net sales, and a surge in EBITDA of up to 30.1 percent. With a gross margin reaching 69.9 percent, the franchise restaurant chain successfully posted a net profit of over IDR 25 billion, marking the success of a transformation strategy focused on business fundamentals.

Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Pizza Hut Indonesia, Elvin Rahardja, revealed that this achievement was inseparable from the comprehensive strengthening of the business foundation. For him, marketing is not a single, standalone element, but part of a unified system that includes operational efficiency, supply chain management, cost control, and disciplined execution in the field. This step was taken to respond to dynamically changing consumer behavior sustainably, rather than just pursuing short-term tactical targets.

In terms of marketing creativity, throughout 2025 Pizza Hut launched a series of innovative campaigns, such as the Seriously MusangKing thematic menu and the Ramadan Dip n Crunch content. This approach proved effective in strengthening emotional connections with customers while winning prestigious awards at the Campaign Indonesia Awards 2026, including the Gold category for Best Social Influencer Campaign and Silver for Most Creative Content.

Starting his career at Procter & Gamble (P&G), Elvin brought a leadership philosophy that emphasizes a deep understanding of consumers, pricing structures, and disciplined operational management. To balance monthly sales targets and long-term brand building, Pizza Hut implements a strict Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process. This system evaluates the contribution of new products, promotions, and core business performance to ensure that growth stability is maintained.

Elvin emphasized that this profitability turnaround was the result of the collective work of all divisions, from the operational team that disciplinedly conserved energy to the HR team that strengthened corporate reputation. In setting success metrics, Pizza Hut chose to focus on profitability and market penetration, especially to reach the younger generation consumer segment through the utilization of trending new digital channels such as TikTok and Threads.

In addition to expanding market reach, Pizza Hut Indonesia has also begun integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning technologies. Besides accelerating the production of marketing content, this technology is optimized to detect potential fraud and operational failures at an early stage. In the future, the company plans to utilize similar technology to minimize food waste across its entire network of restaurant outlets more precisely.
