Minister of Culture, Fadli Zon, responded to the phenomenon of Mount Kawi in East Java, which has returned to the public spotlight. Discussions about the area resurfaced following a visit by content creator Marcel Radhival, known as Pesulap Merah (the Red Magician), to the area, which holds historical and mystical value for some members of the community.
In his view, Fadli Zon emphasized that phenomena like Mount Kawi are a real representation of the broad scope of traditions and customs developing in the country. According to him, Indonesia possesses a diversity of perspectives in interpreting cultural aspects, so every phenomenon growing at the grassroots level must be viewed within a broader framework.
Furthermore, Fadli Zon invited the public to understand various local cultural practices as an integral part of the nation's mosaic. For him, differing perspectives in responding to traditions reflect a rich national identity that should be approached wisely and inclusively.
