Tabanan Regency is tightening the safety supervision of school transportation by adopting digital technology. A total of 244 free "Trans Siswa" transport fleets are now equipped with an IoT-based monitoring system and artificial intelligence (AI) from TransTrack to track fleet movements in real time.
This strategic step is part of the "Ayo Selamat Sekolah" (Let's Go Safely to School) program initiated by the Tabanan Transportation Agency in collaboration with the Health Agency and the Regency Narcotics Board (BNK). This policy was taken following the high rate of traffic accidents in Bali, which reached 8,498 cases throughout 2025, with the majority of incidents triggered by driver negligence.
Through this GPS integration, the Tabanan Transportation Agency's control center can precisely monitor fleet movements across 103 routes spread over 10 sub-districts. The system tracks travel history, route compliance, and real-time vehicle positions to prevent route deviations and improve service accountability for elementary and middle school students.
In addition to technological upgrades, safety aspects are also reinforced through physical health checks for the 244 transport drivers. All drivers are required to undergo health checks, drug-free tests with the BNK, and briefings on traffic discipline to ensure the safety of school children.

In the future, this system is also prepared to adopt Driver Monitoring System (DMS) technology to automatically detect driver fatigue or distraction.
