The Indonesian Community Sports Committee (KORMI) of South Kalimantan officially held an Extraordinary Provincial Conference (Musprov) in Banjarbaru on Saturday (11/7/2026). This strategic forum marks a turning point for the organization to consolidate internally and design a roadmap for developing recreational sports that are more inclusive for all levels of society in Banua.
Representing the Governor of South Kalimantan, the Head of the South Kalimantan Youth and Sports Agency (Dispora), Pebriadin Hapiz, emphasized the importance of this forum in producing a new leader capable of embracing all Parent Sports Organizations (INORGA). The regional government hopes the upcoming leadership will prioritize transparency and cross-sectoral collaboration to optimize the potential of sports based on local wisdom.
Pebriadin added that community sports have high flexibility because they do not always depend on grand infrastructure. He urged the new board to be more creative in encouraging public participation so that the goal of creating a healthy, fit, and productive society can be achieved sustainably, while also serving as thorough preparation for the National Recreational Sports Festival (Fornas) in Palu.
Caretaker Chairman of KORMI South Kalimantan, Ari Yuniawan, expressed his appreciation for the smooth execution of this Extraordinary Conference. According to him, the long-term success of the organization relies heavily on a harmonious synergy between KORMI, the government, the business sector, and community sports activists. The definitive management elected will be required to bring KORMI South Kalimantan to perform more competitively on national and international stages.
Despite facing budget efficiency challenges, the Provincial Government of South Kalimantan remains committed to providing strategic support. Assistance will be focused on priority programs with broad participation impacts as well as sports branches with a proven track record of achievement for the region.
