The Bogor Regency Government (Pemkab) is currently exploring a strategic plan to relieve traffic congestion on the Puncak tourist route by introducing a cable car transportation mode. This ambitious project is designed to connect the Summarecon area in Sukaraja District to the Gunung Mas Rest Area.

The Regent of Bogor, Rudy Susmanto, emphasized that this plan is currently entering the feasibility study stage. His administration is committed to not using funds from the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) for the infrastructure construction, given the large investment cost estimated to reach trillions of rupiah.

Instead, the Bogor Regency Government is actively communicating with potential private investors interested in funding the project. This step is considered the most rational option so that public transportation development can continue without disrupting the limited regional budget posture.

In addition to the cable car project, the local government also evaluated several other transportation alternatives, including the discourse on developing commuter rail lines (KRL). However, effectiveness and funding needs remain the main parameters being thoroughly reviewed by relevant parties before this project is fully realized.
