The Central Java Provincial Government continues to demonstrate its commitment to ensuring equitable access to quality healthcare through the Mobile Specialist Doctor (Speling) program. This initiative is designed to bridge geographical distances, ensuring that residents at the sub-district level no longer face difficulties in obtaining direct consultations from specialist doctors without having to travel long distances to central hospitals.
Central Java Vice Governor Taj Yasin Maimoen personally inspected the implementation of the program at the NU Medika Cilongok Clinic in Banyumas Regency on Saturday (4/7/2026). During his visit, he emphasized the importance of the government's presence in providing accessible, fast, and efficient healthcare services to citizens in areas with limited healthcare facilities.
Furthermore, Taj Yasin expressed hope that the scope of this program would continue to expand. The main focus of Speling is to strengthen early detection of various diseases, enabling the public to receive earlier medical treatment and avoid deteriorating health conditions. This innovation is realized through synergy between the provincial government, regional hospitals, and local healthcare workers, including collaboration with the Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Regional General Hospital (RSUD).
The Central Java Provincial Health Office recorded a significant milestone, with a total of 109,304 residents benefiting since the program was launched. By mid-2026, a total of 1,320 Speling activities had reached 1,310 villages and neighborhoods across Central Java. Public enthusiasm remains high, with residents utilizing these free services ranging from general outpatient services to diagnostic tests such as X-rays and laboratory checks.
One local resident, Naimatul, expressed her appreciation for the program. For her, having free healthcare services close to home greatly helps ease the financial burden on the community, especially for those who need specialist check-ups but face transportation and cost barriers.
