The country's digital media industry is increasingly tightening the protection of their content copyright from technological exploitation. One firm step has been taken by the media portal MIX Marcomm, which has officially announced a strict ban on all forms of unauthorized content extraction, including the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technology for automated data scanning.
This policy includes a ban on the extraction of articles, photos, infographics, videos, and other creative assets published on their official website. In addition, automated data scanning (crawling) or indexing activities to train AI models and similar digital platforms are now declared a serious violation if conducted without written consent from the authorized board of directors.
This protective step is taken amidst the widespread unilateral use of media data by global artificial intelligence technology developers. With this policy, MIX Marcomm aims to safeguard the integrity of journalism and the economic value of every journalistic work they produce from potential digital exploitation without fair compensation.
