The Samarinda City Government continues to strive to increase the competitiveness of local products in a broader market. Recently, the Mayor of Samarinda, Andi Harun, directly led the review of the business strategy as well as the refinement of the design and branding of the local bottled drinking water (AMDK) product named Samaqua.
The meeting, which took place at the Samarinda City Hall, focused on the product's visual aspects, packaging quality, and target market segmentation. Andi Harun emphasized the importance of an attractive and modern design so that Samaqua can compete head-to-head with national brands that have long dominated the market.
According to Andi Harun, branding is not just a matter of logo aesthetics, but a representation of quality and consumer trust in regional products. Therefore, he instructed the management team to finalize the distribution chain and establish a competitive pricing strategy without compromising the quality standards of the clean water produced.
This strategic step is expected not only to strengthen the position of the Regional Municipal Enterprise (Perumda) Varia Niaga as the manager of Samaqua, but also to boost the local economy through the optimized use of regional products in various sectors, including government and private institutions.
