PT Pertamina Patra Niaga (PPN) Dumai Refinery received a management working visit from PT Pertamina Petrochemical Trading (Pertachem) last Wednesday (1/7). The main agenda of this Management Walkthrough (MWT) was to align strategies in optimizing the potential of flagship petrochemical products, particularly the Green Coke commodity, which is the refinery's mainstay.
Acting Executive General Manager of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Refinery Unit Dumai, Isnandhi Dwi Saputra, personally welcomed the board of directors of Pertachem at the refinery's main office. During the meeting, both parties discussed strengthening collaboration between Pertamina Group entities to add value to refinery products and enhance competitiveness in both domestic and international markets.
The Dumai Refinery is recorded as the only refinery owned by Pertamina that produces Green Coke, a solid carbon residue with low sulfur content. This product has now become a crucial commodity for various heavy industry sectors, ranging from metal processing and aluminum to the manufacturing of electric vehicle (EV) battery components, the demand for which continues to surge amid the global energy transition.
President Director of Pertamina Petrochemical Trading, Aribawa, appreciated the strategic partnership established. He emphasized that Green Coke from Dumai already holds high bargaining power in the eyes of the global industry, including its role in the supply chain of supporting materials for world automotive manufacturers such as Tesla. This success is expected to be a catalyst for national economic growth while reaffirming Pertamina's commitment to sustainable product development.
The increasingly close synergy between the two entities is projected to open broader market opportunities for Dumai Refinery's innovative products in the future. Through this business chain integration, Pertamina not only focuses on energy security but also actively promotes high-value petrochemical downstreaming for Indonesia.
