WAY KANAN – In an effort to strengthen religious understanding and eradicate Quranic illiteracy, the Islamic Religious Advisors of the Gunung Labuhan District Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) held a guidance session and Quran completion ceremony (khatam) with the congregation of the Al-Huda Majelis Taklim. The spiritual event took place solemnly in Simpang Melungun Hamlet, Suka Negeri Village, Way Kanan Regency, on Thursday (30/7/2026).
The event, attended by dozens of local residents, featured a series of religious programs, starting from the recitation of the holy verses of the Quran, Islamic lectures, and concluding with a joint completion ceremony. This mentoring program is an ongoing initiative of the Gunung Labuhan KUA to improve the spiritual quality and Quranic literacy of the community in their guided areas.
The Coordinator of Islamic Religious Advisors at the Gunung Labuhan KUA, Khaeirul Huda ABM, expressed his full support for such religious initiatives. According to him, the momentum of the Quran completion ceremony is an effective platform to spread peaceful and soothing Islamic teachings throughout the community.
"We at the Gunung Labuhan KUA are fully committed to guiding the community in activities like this. Besides being a form of worship, this regular guidance serves as a strategic means to nurture the community and collectively increase their devotion," said Khaeirul.
Deep appreciation was also conveyed by the Chairperson of the Al-Huda Majelis Taklim, Gundaria. She expressed her gratitude and pride for the consistency of the religious advisors who personally came to provide guidance, despite having to travel a significant distance.
The presence of these advisors is seen as a source of motivation for the residents of Simpang Melungun Hamlet to continue learning about religion consistently. It is hoped that this collaborative program will continue as a routine agenda to strengthen community bonds and maintain religious values in the Gunung Labuhan region.
